5 Simple Ways to Personalize Your Wedding

Wedding inspiration is found on inumerable sites across the web (mine included!) -- boards, blogs and real weddings abound.  But after you've browsed all of the pretties that other brides like and use, you'll want to find a way to make the ideas your own.  The task may seem overwhelming, especially if your're creatively-challenged. But, you don't have to custom-design every aspect of your wedding.  Just choose a couple of elements to customize that complement your colors or theme. These touches don't have to be elaborate or expensive and can be diy'ed if you're crafty.

My 5 simple elements to personalizing your wedding are:

  1. Stationary -  You aren't limited to invitation books, anymore. There are many creative stationers online where you can create custom save-the-dates & invites that reflect you -- get creative.
  2. Guest book - "Signing" the guest book has become an interactive and fun activity for your guests. Think about how you want to remember your guests and how that can be displayed after the wedding.
  3. Escort card displays - Escort cards aren't just functional anymore. They are another opportunity to showcase your style. And, they can be dual-purpose, serving as the guest favor as well.
  4. Table numbers - Designating your guests tables can be done creatively and as part of your decor. Think about hobbies, interests, occupations, places, childhood memories, etc. for inspiration.
  5. Food & Beverage - Drink stirrers/flags, signature drinks (doesn't have to be alcoholic) and dessert buffets/stations are all great ways to make your mark.

The most important thing to remember when personalizing your wedding is to make sure it truly reflects you and not just a trend.  Your guests should leave the reception thinking how 'you' that party was.
